Filler adds volume directly. Sculptra® stimulates your own collagen, so the improvement comes from your tissue rebuilding, gradual and natural.

Both are collagen biostimulators; the difference is character and timeline. Sculptra® rebuilds softly and diffusely over a few months, ideal for overall firmness and volume, with results lasting around two years, sometimes up to three. Radiesse® gives more immediate structure and contour while collagen builds behind it, lasting around 12–18 months. Your consultation determines which suits your goals, and they can complement each other.

Gradually, and that's by design. Because Sculptra® rebuilds your own collagen, results appear over several weeks to a few months and keep improving with each session. It's regeneration, not an instant fill.

Typically a short series of two to three sessions, spaced about four to six weeks apart. The number of vials is tailored to you; a common guide is roughly one vial per decade of life. We confirm your exact plan at your consultation.

Discomfort is minimal. It's well tolerated and includes lidocaine for comfort. There's no real downtime, though mild swelling, tenderness, or bruising is normal for a few days. To keep results smooth and even, avoid strenuous exercise, sweating, and excessive heat (saunas, hot tubs) for about 48 hours, and alcohol, active skincare, and direct sun for about 72 hours. We'll also guide you through the simple at-home massage that's key to a beautiful result.

Sculptra® has a long track record and is made from poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible material your body gradually and safely absorbs. Side effects are usually mild, such as temporary swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection sites. Following the simple 5-5-5 massage we teach you (five minutes, five times a day, for five days) helps ensure smooth, even results and reduces the chance of small lumps.

One important note: because Sculptra® works through the body's natural inflammatory response to build new collagen, it isn't recommended for patients with autoimmune conditions; in those cases, Radiesse® is our biostimulator of choice.
